DUBAI MEDIA OFFICE
Break Out Room
This is an amazing project we completed just in time for Christmas last year and have been dying to share it. Located in JLT, Dubai this office was in need of an upgrade, they wanted their space to more accurately reflect their business and the amazing work that they do. They wanted a space that they could bring clients that they were proud of. I am happy to say I think we hit the brief!
There were two parts to this project, the main office and a break out/lunch room that is shared between two offices. The break out room was an opportunity to be a little bit more daring with the design and give the staff somewhere they could come and relax. We included a dry pantry for lunch prep and a coffee bar to sit at or work from. The bar we had custom made by officialiving360, it’s made from old railway sleepers and adds such a great texture to the Ikea kitchen. We framed the kitchen area with Palm Leaf wall colour by Jotun. The floor is a vinyl lino from Dragon Mart (I trod a million steps to find it!) as are the barstools.
The art are commissioned pieces from Light By Chiao.
We incorporated different seating areas into the room to allow a number of people to use the space at one time. The green armchairs chairs are from JYSK and side table from Maisons du Monde. There is also a couched area with furniture from Ikea as well as a number of cafe style dining tables.
The Office Space
The old office felt cramped and tired. We wanted the space to feel more inviting and spacious. There was also a need from staff for a private meeting room and a separate studio space. We knocked down walls and partitions and changed the configuration of the space to make it more usable and give the team the spaces they needed. We also took out the suspended ceiling to expose the utility pipes, this added at least 3 feet to the room height - what a difference that made! We kept the industrial vibe going and added some brick wallpaper and industrial style pendant lighting. The floor was also replaced with a much lighter parquet flooring.
